GREY MEDIA CLEARS UNITED WRESTLING NETWORK PROGRAMMING ON OHIO’S NEW ROCK ENTERTAINMENT SPORTS NETWORK AND SOUTH CAROLINA’S PALMETTO SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK

Hollywood, CA/Atlanta, GA – United Wrestling Network’s “Championship Wrestling”, “Memphis Wrestling”, “Derby City Wrestling” and “Primetime Live” continues its distribution relationship with Grey Media as we join programming on Ohio’s new Rock Entertainment Sports Network and South Carolina’s Palmetto Sports and Entertainment Network.

Rock Entertainment Sports Network will serve as the home for the American Hockey League 2015-2016 Calder Cup Champion Cleveland Monsters, the NBA G League Cleveland Charge, St. Edward High School Varsity Sports, starting with football this fall, and programming from the Frontier League Lake Erie Crushers. The network will be available on channel 22.1 through free over-the-air broadcasts and the parties intend for it to be available through major cable, satellite and virtual pay-TV platforms throughout Ohio.

“Our fans are the lifeblood of Rock Entertainment Group. We are constantly looking for ways to evolve the opportunities our fans have to engage with all sports across our region and state. From our dynamic college and professional teams to our semiprofessional and high school sports, passion, pride and our commitment to delivering world class experiences via these sports is deeply ingrained in our culture,” said Nic Barlage, Rock Entertainment Group and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse CEO. “The establishment of Rock Entertainment Sports Network will offer fans in Ohio unparalleled access to all levels of competitive sports and provide our diverse array of sports teams an unprecedented platform to connect with fans of all interests.”

And in October 2024, Palmetto Sports and Entertainment Network will debut across South Carolina’s WIS-TV/Columbia, WHNS-TV/Greensville/Ashville/Spartanburg, WZCH-TV/Charleston and WMBF-TV/Myrtle Beach. The new network will be based out of Gray’s WIS-TV in Columbia and will focus on live, local sports with a wide variety of entertainment programming across the state of South Carolina. Gray’s WIS started broadcasting live games earlier this year with the Charleston Battery (USL) and Columbia Fireflies (MiLB).

“We’re having fun creating new fans,” said WIS Vice President and General Manager Robby Thomas. “Our audience tells us how much they appreciate watching live sports for free over-the-air. We recognize the power of sports to connect communities, and we’re thrilled to launch this statewide.”

“Gray has been an incredible partner, previously they cleared United Wrestling Network branded programming on Georgia’s Peachtree Sports and Entertainment Network, Arizona Family Sports Network and Nevada’s Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network. We already had a bold syndication for “Championship Wrestling” and adding Rock Entertainment and Palmetto to our list of stations helps us with our goal of reaching 90% of US television households and the best part is the channels are free,” states David Marquez Owner of United Wrestling Network.
